Accepting Submissions from Dance Educators with Strong Teaching Experience.

Please note: We are most interested in instructors (male or female) who are interested in a part-time position (1-2 days a week through June 2020), as well as instructors interested in opportunities for master classes, workshops, choreography for competition, adjudication for competition, in-studio convention, and emergency teacher subs. Instructors with a vehicle are a HUGE plus. We are most interested in instructors who do not actively audition but some exception do apply.

Pay:

$35-200/Hour

What is Man In Motion:

Man In Motion is a network/roster of over 75 male dance professionals designed to fill a specific need in dance education. We provide studios and organizations with dance instructors and choreographers. arrange master classes and workshops, and deliver emergency teacher subs, and top-notch guest artists who are experienced and well-trained. 

Professional credits of those on our roster include Broadway shows such as, Wicked and Hamilton, acclaimed dance companies such as, Ballet Hispanico, and TV shows such as, So You Think You Can Dance. 

Submission Requirements:

  • Must reside in the NY, NJ, or CT area.

  • Must have a clear understanding of dance education and experience working with recreational, competitive, and pre-professional dancers (ages 8-18).

  • Must be professional, reliable, and able to commit to confirmed bookings.

  • Must be able to submit supporting materials and a contactable reference listed on your resume.

  • Must not be actively auditioning

Who We Are:

Man In Motion is a network of over 75 male dance professionals designed to fill a specific need in dance education. We are a small service-based company, assisting dance studios and organizations in the staffing of dance instructors and choreographers, providing faculty for master classes and workshops, delivering emergency teacher subs and top-notch guest artists who are experienced and well-trained.

What We Are Looking For:

Man In Motion is looking for a few dedicated, reliable, self-motivated, detail-oriented, independent contractors to join our team in any one of the part-time positions below. Please see the headings and the necessary requirements for each available position. 

Available Positions:

Assistant Director of Events |

 

Administrative Assistant:

  • Direct or assist in all matters related to the production of on-site dance events, such as in-studio conventions, dance workshops, dance seminars and/or vending events, and more. 

  • Administrative duties include phone calls, drafting/sending emails, record keeping, light errands (in the NYC or NJ area), etc. 

  • PAY: Pay is based on a per event basis when directing or assisting events and on a per hour basis for administrative duties. 

  • Administrative duties are done from home (personal computer required). Event-based duties are performed on-site in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut.

  • Hours are generally flexible (daytime) and can range from 10-20 hours per week. 

  • A licensed driver with a personal vehicle is required for this position. 

Videographer | Video Editor (Intern Preferred) :

  • Attend dance-related events and capture video for archival and social media/website purposes. Must also be talented and knowledgeable in the area of video editing  and able to produce a final product that is creative, exciting, and visually effective. 

  • This position is best suited for an intern who will receive a small stipend on a per project basis. Intern positions are eligible for paid positions within 6-12 months. 

  • Projects are scheduled to take place in the New York City and/or New Jersey area. 

  • Personal camera equipment and editing software required. A licensed driver with a vehicle is preferred but not mandatory. 

Assistant Graphic Designer |

 

Social Media Assistant Editor (Intern):

  • Design images for entertainment and promotional purposes for our website and social media outlets. Also, assist in the weekly editing/positing of social media material.

  • Must be talented and knowledgeable in the area of graphic design and able to produce a final product that is visually effective. Must be detail-oriented, have loads of ideas, and able to produce material in a timely fashion. 

  • Work from home. Personal computer and design software required.  Hours and project deadlines are flexible. 

  • This is an intern only position with a small stipend offered for some projects. Intern positions are eligible for paid positions within 6-12 months.
